Does Accelent work without internet?
Yes. After installation, Accelent works without an internet connection, and all your data is stored locally on your computer. The internet is needed only to activate or renew your licence, and for optional extras you choose to use, such as Cloud Backup or sending a bill on WhatsApp.
What happens to my data after the trial ends?
Your data is never deleted. You can view and export all your records even after the trial period. Simply activate a license to continue adding new entries.
How does the mobile app connect to the desktop?
On the same WiFi network, enter your desktop's local IP address in the app and you're connected instantly. For remote access (different networks), install the free Tailscale app on both devices — it creates a secure private network between them.
How many phones can connect to my desktop?
Shops and businesses: 2 phones are included, you plus one staff member. Restaurants and hotels: your admin phone plus 5 staff phones for waiters and other staff. More phones cost ₹999/year each (restaurants and hotels: ₹300/year). Restaurants and hotels get one staff login for each phone, so every extra phone also adds a login for the waiter using it.
Can I use Accelent for a hotel or restaurant?
Yes. Choose your business type when you set up Accelent (or later in Settings → Company). Restaurants get tables, kitchen order tickets (KOT), takeaway, waiters taking orders on their phones, and QR ordering at the table over your own Wi-Fi (a waiter confirms every QR order). Hotels, lodges and guest houses also get rooms, check-in with an ID scan, advances, GST worked out per night, room service charged to the room with one bill at check-out, a guest register for the police, and housekeeping. Recipes take each dish's ingredients out of stock. The restaurant & hotel plan is ₹5,999/year + GST (₹10,999 for 2 years): 1 PC, your admin phone and 5 staff phones.
Does Accelent connect to MakeMyTrip, Booking.com, Zomato or Swiggy?
No. Accelent works offline and has no link to booking sites or food delivery apps, so those bookings and orders are entered in Accelent by hand. Each stay or restaurant bill can record who brought the guest (a booking site, travel agent, guide or taxi driver); Accelent works out their commission, keeps a statement for each partner and records what you pay them. The commission is never shown on the guest's bill.
Can I scan barcodes with my phone?
Yes. The Accelent Android app has a built-in barcode scanner using your phone camera. Scan any product barcode during a sale or purchase — it automatically finds the item. If the barcode is new, you can add the item directly from your phone.
Is Accelent GST compliant?
Yes. Accelent automatically calculates CGST, SGST and IGST on every invoice, and generates GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B filing-ready files plus a portal-compatible E-Invoice JSON for businesses that need IRN generation. Read the full

Does Accelent support countries other than India? NEW
Yes — newly added support for Pakistan (Federal Goods GST and Provincial Services GST, calculated per authority), Sri Lanka (VAT with SSCL), and simple flat-rate VAT for Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Maldives. You pick your country once during setup and Accelent applies the right rates automatically. This multi-country support is new and actively being refined — for India, GST compliance remains the most mature and thoroughly tested.
Can Accelent read a paper vendor bill automatically? NEW
Yes — take a photo of a paper bill and Accelent reads the line items, HSN/SAC codes and GST automatically. This runs entirely offline on your own computer using local OCR technology — no cloud AI, no internet connection needed, and the bill photo and its data never leave your PC. Before anything is saved, you get a review screen showing the original photo next to the extracted data, with a reconciliation check confirming the vendor, GST and total match exactly. If the bill runs across more than one page, scan each page in turn and merge them straight into a single purchase entry — no manual merging afterward.
Can Accelent match my purchases against the GST portal's GSTR-2B statement? NEW
Yes — import your GSTR-2B export from the GST portal and Accelent automatically matches it against your own purchase records, entirely offline. It flags ITC available in 2B that you haven't recorded as a purchase yet (money you could be claiming but aren't), amount mismatches, duplicate invoices, and vendors who haven't filed their invoices at all — with an exportable report you can act on or hand to your accountant.
Can I lock a financial year once it's closed? NEW
Yes. Closing a financial year locks every sale, purchase and transaction dated inside it — none of them can be edited or deleted afterward, keeping your filed reports and GST returns accurate. If a genuine correction is ever needed, an admin can reopen that year, and both the closing and the reopening are fully logged for audit.
Can multiple staff members use it?
Yes. Each staff member gets their own login, and the owner (admin) decides exactly what they can see and do — start from a template (Billing Staff, Store Keeper, Accountant, Manager) and adjust. For example, a salesperson can raise invoices without seeing profits, account balances or purchase costs, and without being able to edit or delete past bills. The same rules apply on the phone app.
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
RAM: 8 GB recommended for the quickest bill scanning. 4 GB is the minimum: everything works, but bill scans take longer.
No internet required after setup. The Android app requires Android 8.0 or above.
Is Cloud Backup safe? Can Accelent read my data?
No. Your backup is encrypted with your own password before it ever leaves your computer, and it's saved to a cloud folder you choose (your own OneDrive or Google Drive) — never to our servers. We cannot read it. If you ever forget your password, recovery requires both a code you saved yourself and a verified support request — no single party, including us, can unlock it alone.
What languages does Accelent support?
Accelent's screens, bills and reports are in English. The help hints on the main menu can be shown in 18 languages: English, Hindi, Urdu, Spanish, French, German, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Nepali, Sinhala, Pashto, Dhivehi and Dzongkha.
